The Satellite run has three starting points.
Each route will culminate in the Pitlochry Hydro for Lunch between 1-1.30pm. This will be a choice of 2 soups, a selection of sandwiches and a scone at £12 per head to be paid to the organiser at your chosen registration start point.
We will have time to socialise and hopefully meet new members before ambling home.
Please come and join us on the first MG run of the year!!
North Start: Aviemore organised by Iain Macleod
This year North means North! Our starting point will be at the Highland Resort, Aviemore, PH22 1PN.
Please arrive around 9 – 9.30am for a hot filled roll and a coffee (£5 – please pay the hotel directly) with a view to be on our way no later than 10am. If required, there are rooms available for the previous evening (April 13th) so you can beat the crowds. These are priced at £152 per room on a bed and breakfast basis and you would need to book this yourself with the hotel.
There is no entry fee for the run but lunch is provided at £12pp and I will collect payment for this prior to departure from those wishing to partake.
Our route of approximately 95 miles will take us north east from Aviemore towards Nethy Bridge and over the notorious A939, gradually sweeping south en route to Cockbridge. Hopefully all the major snow will be gone by then as I’m not sure there are many 4×4 MG’s out there.
After a picturesque drive we will reach Deeside on our route over the Spittal of Glenshee to our destination for lunch at the Pitlochry Hydro.
Hopefully we can attract some more of our northern MG owners to come along and join us for what is a fantastic drive and friendly folks.
East Start: Between Newburgh and Abernethy in Fife organised by Anne Howitt
This part of the run will start from Jamesfield Farm Shop and Restaurant, Abernethy, Fife KY14 6EW. (about 100 yards east of the traffic lights on the wee bridge – for those who know the area!)
Please arrive about 10 o’clock to allow time for breakfast.
A hot filled roll with tea or coffee will be available for £5. Please pay at the time. I’ll also collect your lunch payment of £12pp.
This route will take about a couple of hours and take you through lovely lowland Perthshire – Forgandenny, Forteviot and Dunning before heading north towards Gilmerton and the Sma’ Glen, Aberfeldy and finally ending at Pitlochry Hydro for lunch.
The route is 64 miles of stunning scenery.
West Start: Dobbies Garden Centre, Drip Road, Stirling organised by Nancy Crichton.
The West start of the Satellite Run will be from Dobbies Garden Centre near Stirling just off the M9, FK9 4UF.
The route will be around 73 miles taking approx.2hrs. If you can arrive between 9.30 and 10.00am we will be setting off around 10.30am. Lunch is arranged from between 1.00 and 1.30pm

Then it’s up along Loch Tay, passing the 5,000 year old Yew tree in the graveyard at Fortingall before meandering to Aberfeldy and on to Pitlochry where we will lunch at the Pitlochry Hydro Hotel.
