    About Us

    How we started

The Caledonian Centre of the MG Car Club was formed in 1992 by a group of Car Club members who wished to introduce more social events and activities to the MG Calendar in Scotland.

    MGCC Caledonian Centre
This gave Scotland two Centres, with the Scottish Centre serving the east of the country with the emphasis on racing and the Caledonian Centre covering the west.

Following the demise of the Scottish Centre in 2008 following their 75th anniversary the two Centres amalgamated, leaving the Caledonian Centre to serve the interests of MG Car Club members throughout of Scotland.

So, today the Centre aims to bring events and activities to suit all our members whatever their interests.

    So who are we?

We are a group of enthusiasts with a passion for our MGs, some are used daily, some are concours, some are racers, we all own MGs for different reasons. The range of cars is diverse from a 1929 M-Type through to the newly launched MG 6 and MG 3, all are welcome.

    So what do we do?

From April to October we organise one day runs throughout various parts of the country, these are usually between 80 to 120 miles and can be either scenic drives or visits to places of interest. In addition to the one day runs we also have a Two Day Tour in September. In August we are hold a five day Highland Tour which takes us around the North of Scotland, this run is a flexible one,you can join and leave at any point of the route. It was designed to give the further flung members a chance to meet other members.

Our flagship event is our Three Day May Scenic Tour which can have up to seventy MGs attending from all over Britain, this is held on the first weekend in May, we have had entries from Holland, Australia, Ireland and from across the Pond.

For those who prefer the static shows we normally attend at least three during the year, these include Thirlestane Castle, Bo’ness Hill Climb Show,we have won best stand at all these shows and on some more than once. The main one for us being the Glamis Extravaganza, at which we have had an amazing seventy cars on display from a 1929 M-Type, with models from all decades through to the newly launched MG 6 and LE500 on display.

So what about the sporting members?

We hold Production Car Trials, Track Nights, some members also take part in sprints and competitions. We normally have a number of cars competing at the Bo’ness Hill Climb which is held in September.

In the winter Months we hold Technical and Racing talks, which are hosted by Brian Luti of Dreadnought Garage in Callander, we hope to expand on these in the future.

We also have Sunday Lunch meets during the long winter months along with the Chilly Willy Lunch held on New Years Day.

So we hope we provide something for all tastes! Come along and join us on one of our Events.

    So what benefits are there?

Through the MG Car Club you will have access to the largest group of MG fans in the world. Club members share your enthusiasm for MG cars of every type and generation. Club members get together to enjoy MG themed events, including racing and other competitions. They share information, advice and support for their MGs in model groups called ‘Registers’. Club members have access to a list of trusted suppliers for parts and services and discounts on parts, consumables and services such as insurance.

Members enjoy discounted admission to Main MG Car Club events and many other shows and events during the year. All members receive the monthly Club magazine, Safety Fast, which covers the world of MG as well as Club events.

So whatever your interests we hope we have something to offer you in joining the MG Car Club Caledonian Centre.
