The mystery of the July one day tour was revealed to the drivers of 16 cars who gathered at Dobbies just outside Kinross for early morning coffee and eats. There was an unusually broad selection of MGs with 3 MGCs, 2 RV8s, 3 MGBs, 5 MGF/TFs, ZT & MG3 & an MGA all the way from MGCC Denmark.
This was a relaxed event with no real time pressures and as the cars headed out towards Crail the dullish sky eventually gave way to bright sunshine. In a summer of great days this was one of the hottest!
Passing through Kinross the cars skirted Loch Leven before heading for Leslie , over the Lomond Hills to Falkland and then through Freuchie and Ceres before entering Crail 45 miles later.
Most stopped there for lunch, ice cream or a walk before continuing along the coast through Anstruther, St Monans, Pittenweem and Elie to the eventual finish at the Upper Largo Hotel for a final coffee. There was an alternative cross country route but most opted for the cool breezes of the coast!
And so it ended with everyone in high spirits and some with sun burnt faces!
