Our stand at the Thirlestane Castle show was based on a V8 theme, and had a good representation of these cars.
I am pleased to say that we won the “Best Stand” award which was well received by all of us who were there.
The recent wet weather resulted in ground that was very muddy and one member who will remain nameless, turned around and went home. I have to say I had some sympathy with him. Our stand was right next to the Edinburgh MG Club stand and it was good to see former Caledonian Centre committee members Helen Kirkness and Alan Digance again.
The show was very comprehensive as regards the numbers of makes of vehicles there – just about every make of vehicle and club that one could imagine, along with military vehicles.
As usual we had our Car-B-Q in full swing with Chef Tommy Arnott doing his bit. Well done Tommy. The weather was not too bad on the Sunday which was the only day I attended.
