For the second year the Centre attended the Ignition Festival of Motoring at the SSEC again sharing the stand with Bo’ness Hillclimb. We supplied three cars, the WSM Midget, a BGT & the ZR Express and Bo’ness arranged to have the Cooper MG and Stevie Smith’s Austin 7 single seater.
Initially we expected to be outside in a ‘paddock’ area but were glad that space was provided in Hall 2 as there were some very heavy downpours! Attendance overall seemed greater than last year and the show itself was much larger with plenty of motoring variety and action to see. We did have a very upmarket neighbour, cars built by some man called Enzo Something, name the manufacturer and win a prize.
Adel Rand was with us flying the flag for Peter Best Insurance Services, our main Sponsor, a very welcome visitor. She did get up to some strange activities though, and tried hard to not to be seen.
Our intention was to fly the MGCC flag, and to attract new members for both our selves, Bo’ness Revival and raise the profile of PBIS . On all counts we were successful, a worthwhile weekend!
