I commented in one of my monthly emails that Tony Smith, having spent a lifetime in railway canteens knew a good hotel when he found one. Someone replied saying he obviously hadn’t treated Isobel to anything other than Railway Canteens in those years…
Well he came up trumps in his hotel choice for the Chilly Willy, central location, two rooms at our disposal, open coal fires and good food at a good price….The Stirling Highland Hotel.
But it takes more than these ingredients to make a good day. Friends are required..
And 32 of them turned up on the day, some from as far afield as Lincolnshire and including a brand new member!
It was also the inaugural meeting of the Caledonian Ladies Knitting Bee but you’ll need to wait for the February issue of SF for details of that…….
The afternoon passed all too quickly and as friends made their way back to the carpark there were many positive comments on the day and the hotel. It will probably be repeated there again next year… See you then?
