Well it is that time of the year again and we have had the last run of the season, organised by Tony Smith, who set out to ensure we had a leisurely run with a bit of a twist.
The starting place was Calders Garden Centre Newton Mearns, where 22 cars, drivers and passengers met for Brunch. The cars ranged from 1950 to 2017, who says the MGCC is not inclusive, it just needs an MG badge.
The route was around 60 miles, again taking in some unknown roads, at least, unknown to me, through Eagesham, Strathaven, Longridge, Linlithgow and ending up at Boness. During the run the sun was out and the hoods were down. Smiles all round!
Thr un finished at Boness Steam Railway, where it was arranged for afternoon tea to be served in a period railway carriage, being pulled by a steam locomotive. Caledonian Centres answer to the Orient Express.
Tony being the organiser, managed to get himself a shot on the foot plate of the train and the photo confirmed his enjoyment.
Now if only the train could get an MG badge.
